Tet, the Lunar New Year, is the most significant celebration in Vietnamese culture. It is a time for family reunions, honoring ancestors, visiting loved ones, and exchanging heartfelt New Year’s wishes.

On January 25, 2025, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres sent a message of celebration to member countries and people around the world in honour of the Lunar New Year, marking the beginning of the Year of the Snake.

State President Luong Cuong paid a pre-Tet visit to the Mobile Police Command under the Ministry of Public Security in Hanoi on January 22, during which he praised the force for its excellent performance in 2024 and great contributions to the country’s achievements amid difficulties and challenges.

With just over two weeks to the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival, made-in-Vietnam products are having a dominant presence at supermarkets and convenience stores across the country, showcasing the growing strength of such brands as Kinh Do, Huu Nghi, Bibica, Cau Tre, and Vissan.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour has announced its 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) plan for workers, which includes providing around 2,000 round-trip train tickets, and 400 one-way plane tickets, to help workers return home for the biggest holiday of a year in the country.
