Australia wins Tuan Chau Women’s Beach Volleyball tourney

The Australia 1 team won the first prize at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Beach Volleyball Tour 2016, which wrapped up in the northern province of Quang Ninh on May 1.

Quang Ninh (VNA) – The Australia 1 team won the first prize at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Beach Volleyball Tour 2016, which wrapped up in the northern province of Quang Ninh on May 1.

The New Zealand team came second while China 2 team finished third in the four-day event.

The tournament attracted the participation of 14 teams from eight countries and territories – Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Japan, Hong Kong (China) and Vietnam.

The tournament is part of the Ha Long-Quang Ninh 2016 Tourism Week, which features nearly 40 cultural, sport and tourism events, including a pageant contest, a photo exhibition and a summer music festival with the highlight being the 2016 Ha Long Carnival.

Quang Ni𓆏nh is home to Ha Long Bay,ꦚ which was twice recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 and 2000.-VNA
