A rare weather phenomenon surprised locals and visitors as thick frost blanketed Ta Xua Peak in Ban Cong commune, Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province. The frost formed overnight on March 18 and lasted until around 7:30 a.m. on March 19.

The Ba Chua Xu (Holy Mother of the Realm) Festival on Mount Sam in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang was officially recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, at the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Paraguay on December 4.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet chef Martin Yan, enjoy an ox racing festival and join the solemn Ba Chua Xu honouring festival in Chau Doc city this May.
