Ca Mau (VNA) – The southernmost province of Ca Mau aims to earn 1.2 billion USD fromexports in 2018, up 100 million USD against 2017.

To realise the goal, various measures have been implemented, with attention paidto improving administrative procedures to help export enterprises expand theirbusiness.

For the key export sector of frozen shrimp, local authorities have focused onmanaging and planning environmentally friendly shrimp-farmingmodels with high-productivity and quality, satisfying international standardsand demand.

Trade promotion activities have also been enhanced, aiming to expand thelocality’s export markets.

According to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tien Hai, CaMau’s export turnover is estimated to hit 1.1 billion USD in 2017, ayear-on-year increase of 12 percent.

Advantages in import markets, stable price ofraw materials for processing, close cooperation among local seafood export enterprises,and efforts to build brands have helped boost the locality’s export turnover.-VNA

According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), in the interbank market, the trend of decreasing overnight interest rates has continued, starting at 3.13% in the first session of last week and gradually decreasing over the sessions to 1.67% at the last session of the week. In total, overnight interest rates decreased by 1.46 percentage points within one week.
