Cambodia, Malaysia agree to promote establishment of ASEAN Observer Team

The Cambodian and Malaysian PMs discussed the need for quick establishment of the ASEAN Observer Team and the operation of the Interim Monitoring Team to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand

Phnom Penh (VNA)♊ – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced on August 19 that he had a phone call with his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim, Cambodian media reported.

The two leaders discussed the need for quick establishment of the ASEAN Observer Team and the operation of the Interim Monitoring Team. According to PM Hun Manet, both the mechanisms are important to effectively monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand./.
