Hanoi (VNA) –Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Vietnam Vitezslav Grepl has suggested that Vietnamand his country take new measures to ratchet up defence ties.

He was speaking at areception hosted by Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh in Hanoi on May 4.

The diplomat saidthe cooperation between the two countries, including the defence partnership,is growing, but it is still behind their potential and strength.

Vinh agreed with the diplomat’s suggestion, stressing the need for the armies toincrease all-level visit exchange and define concrete cooperative contents in linewith a memorandum of understanding on defence cooperation signed in 2012.

On the occasion, heconveyed the invitation to visit Vietnam from Minister of Defence Ngo Xuan Lichto his Czech counterpart.-VNA
