Euromonitor International has named Bangkok the world’s top tourism city in 2024 after it welcomed a record-breaking 32.4 million visitors.

Though Euromonitor International estimates e-commerce accounted for just 3 percent of Vietnam’s retail market last year, the smallest among Southeast Asia’s major economies, the potential for growth is alluring, the newswire bnnbloomberg.ca said on June 2.

A Euromonitor International report ranked Vietnam as 96th of 99 countries for sustainable tourism.

With an emerging market economy and continued strong growth, Vietnam is set to become one of the most dynamic markets in the world by 2030, according to Euromonitor International, a global market research company.

Euromonitor International, the world’s leading independent provider of strategic market research, has announced the list of top 100 city destination of 2018, with three being in Vietnam.

While only 7 percent of online travel sales in Vietnam were made on mobile devices last year, the number grew rapidly at a 58.1 percent compound annual growth rate in the 2013-16 period, presenting a major growth opportunity.
