The Vietnamese Party, State and people attach importance to the fine traditional relationship between the two nations, which began in 1950.

The two sides concurred to promote dialogue mechanisms and regular delegation exchanges, enhance information and experience sharing across various sectors, including legislation. They also consented to support each other at inter-parliamentary forums.

Vietnam views Estonia not only as a partner in the Baltic region, but also as a key gateway to access the EU market and its technology edge. Conversely, Estonia can see Vietnam as a dynamic partner, a vast market and a strategic gateway to Southeast Asia.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son expressed his delight at the recent positive developments in bilateral ties and proposed major directions to strengthen the partnership across politics and diplomacy, trade and investment, science and technology, education and training, sustainable development, and people-to-people exchange.
