Exhibition features anti-war-in-Vietnam campaigns of US veterans

A special exhibition titled “Waging Peace – American Soldiers and Veterans opposing the War in Viet Nam” opened at the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City on March 19.

HCM City (VNA) – A special exhibition titled“Waging Peace – American Soldiers and Veterans opposing the War in Viet Nam”opened at the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City on March 19.

Jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of FriendshipOrganisations (HUFO), Peace and Development Foundation, and the US-based organisationVeterans for Peace (VFP), the event is displaying 80 posters, photos, andnewspaper articles on past campaigns to end the war in Vietnam by US soldiersand veterans.

At the exhibition, Nguyen Van Manh, HUFO Vice Chairman andGeneral Secretary, said Vietnam – US relations have grown stronger in the past20 years via friendly exchange programmes of politicians, scholars, veterans,and students of the two countries.

A large number of US veterans have returned to Vietnam totake part in local charity programmes and helped promote understanding aboutVietnamese people and culture in their home country, he added.
