Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s female foot𓄧ballers are determined to win the qualifying round of the 2017 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U19 Women’s Championship, coach Mai Duꩵc Chung said.

Under the round-robin format, Vietnam will vie with Iran and India, also in Group D, for the only ticket to the final round. Vietnam will play India on November 4 and Iran two days later after its rivals compete with each other in the opening match on November 2.
The games will take place at the field of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre in Hanoi. At a press conference on November 1, Chung said the Vietnam Football Federation didn’t put pressure on the U19 players as Group D gathers strong teams in Asia. Twenty-five footballers of the Vietnamese team were selected from key players of famous clubs nationwide, he added.
The qualifying round of the 2017 AFC U19 Women’s Championship will saw the competition of 17 teams divided into four groups. Group A comprises Australia, Jordan, Lebanon, Singapore, and the Northern Mariana Islands. Group B gathers Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Tajikistan, and Pakistan. Meanwhile, Thailand, Myanmar, Palestine, and Kyrgyzstan will be in Group C. The best of each group will advance to the final round, which also includes the four best teams at the 2015 tournament, namely Japan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea, and China.
The final round is slated for October next year in China.-VNA
