Competent forces in the south-central province of Binh Dinh have successfully rescued a foreign sailor who had suffered serious injuries and brought him ashore for emergency medical care, the provincial Border Guard Command reported on December 12.

K.V., a 53-year-old foreign sailor who became sick from anthrax while at sea, recovered within just a week of treatment for the infection in Vietnam.

The Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) of Region 4 on November 29 brought a foreign sailor, who was in an occupational accident and suffered a fatal injury, to Nha Trang port of the central province of Khanh Hoa for treatment.

The Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre No. 3 on December 9 took a foreign sailor seriously injured on board a Panama-flagged cargo ship off Vietnam’s territorial waters to hospital for treatment.
