French pianist to perform works for the left hand

French pianist Maxime Zecchini will play works for the left hand in a piano recital at the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF) in Ho Chi Minh City on February 23.

 French pianist Maxime Zecchini will play works for the left hand in apiano recital at the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF) in Ho ChiMinh City on February 23.

The concert will featuremasterpieces by Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Ravel. Works byFrench composers Charles-Valentin Alkan, Pierre Sancan and Michel Legrandwill be included as well.

Born in Paris, Zecchini beganhis study at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (NationalConservatory of Music) of Lyon. In 2001, he earned the Diplôme Nationald'Etudes Supérieures Musicales (National Diploma of Higher Musical Studies)with highest honours.

He studied with Frenchclassical pianist Jean-François Heisser at the Conservatoire National Supérieurde Musique of Paris.

He also received a degree fromthe prestigious Incontri col Maestro Academy in Bologna, Italy. He has won topprizes at several international competitions including the CziffraFoundation Prize and the IBLA International Competition in Ragusa Ibla, Sicily,Italy

His discography includes Anthology for the Left Hand Repertoire in10 volumes.

He has played with numerousorchestras including Beijing Opera, Kiev Philharmonic, and CapeTown Philharmonic Orchestra, and performed at prestigious halls in Parisand in numerous festivals and concerts in France and another 50 countries.

Zecchini will performin Carnegie Hall in New York in April 2021.
