French, Vietnamese communist parties strengthen ties

The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) values the strengthening of ties with the French Communist Party (PCF), thus helping boost friendship and cooperation between the two countries and two peoples.

Ngo Van Du, Secretary of the CPVCentral Committee and Chief of the committee’s Office, made theaffirmation while receiving a PCF delegation led by Director of theCommission for International Relations Jacques Fath in Hanoi onNovember 16.

Du thanked the French communists, as well as all the people of France,for their solidarity with and support for Vietnam in its past strugglesfor independence as well as its current process of nationalconstruction and defence.

For his part, Jacques Fath spoke highly of Vietnam’s achievementsduring its renewal process, considering it to be a valuable experienceto learn from for the PCF and all forces struggling for peace,democracy and socialism in the world.

He expressed his hope that the PCF will further strengthen ties withcommunist parties, workers and vanguards throughout the world and willcontinue to do its utmost to tighten its relationship with the CPV,helping to develop friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.

During their stay in Vietnam, the French guests held talks with adelegation from the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for ExternalRelations. The two sides discussed measures to consolidate andstrengthen cooperation between the two Parties in particular andbetween the two countries in general.

The French delegation also worked with the Central Theoretical Counciland the Vietnam-France Friendship Association and visited Hanoi, Ho ChiMinh City, Quang Ninh and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces./.
