In a move to unlock the economic potential of Vietnam's mountainous areas, the International Cooperation Department (ICD) under the Government Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs has joined hands with the Institute for International Investment Studies (ISC) through a strategic cooperation agreement.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh has signed a decision issuing an action framework on mechanism and policy reform to support the national target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas in the 2021-2030 period.

Ethnic minority candidates in the upcoming elections in Vietnam were equipped with campaign skills during a meeting held in Hanoi on April 23 by the National Assembly (NA)’s Council for Ethnic Affairs and the Government’s Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on August 5 chaired a Government meeting on law building, with the participation of representatives from the Government Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs as well as National Assembly’s committees, the Vietnam Fatherland Committee and ministries.
