Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had separate meetings with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on the sidelines of the 34th ASEAN Summit in Bangkok on June 22.

The Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) Business Summit, which opened in Hanoi on March 30 on the sidelines of the sixth GMS Summit as an initiative of Vietnam, has created an opportunity for governments to hold dialogue with enterprises and development partners, and encourage their stronger engagement in GMS activities.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will continue to be a trusted partner of Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) countries in their efforts for future growth, ADB President Takehiko Nakao wrote in an article published by Indonesia’s Jakarta Globe newspaper.

Senior officials from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam met in Hanoi on October 24 for their Senior Official Meetings (SOMs).

A string of summits which aim to further links among Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) countries will take place in Hanoi from October 24-26.
