A book exhibition celebrating the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2024) is underway at the National Library of Vietnam in the capital city.

A grand ceremony was held in Hanoi on October 10 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the capital city’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2024).

In the light of history and national pride, October 10, 1954 became an indelible mark in the minds of the Vietnamese people. It was the day when Hanoi was liberated after being colonised for nearly a century.

Nearly 200 documents and photos featuring Hanoi’s ancient gates are being displayed at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the capital city’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2024).

The influence of the "Nhua Song" (Vitality) newspaper, the "voice" of the Hanoi student resistance movement, along with various activities of the youth in the capital during the occupation kept the enemy on edge. The occupiers sought ways to suppress, counter, and arrest individuals in an effort to extinguish the revolutionary movement.

The cultural festival for peace is underway in Hanoi to mark the city's 70th Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2024) and 25 years since receiving the title “City for Peace”.
