The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria hosted the “Homeland Spring 2025” programme in Algiers on January 20, bringing the vibrant atmosphere of traditional Tet to the Vietnamese community in the country.

As Vietnam is preparing a firm foundation to confidently enter a new era, State President Luong Cuong has called on Vietnamese people, both at home and abroad, to join hands in this great journey.

Party General Secretary To Lam on January 19 hosted a reception for 100 overseas Vietnamese representatives from more than 40 countries and territories, who are in Vietnam to attend the 2025 “Xuan Que huong” (Homeland Spring) organised by the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese.

Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien chaired a meeting in Hanoi on January 19 to honour outstanding collectives and individuals from the overseas Vietnamese (OV) community who returned home for the annual programme Homeland Spring 2025.

State President Luong Cuong and his spouse, along representatives from ministries, agencies and Hanoi administration, and nearly 100 overseas Vietnamese attended an incense-offering ceremony at the historic Kinh Thien Palace in the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi on January 19.

The Homeland Spring 2025 programme, themed “Vietnam Rising in a New Era,” is expected to welcome about 1,000 overseas Vietnamese (OV) from across the globe.

The Homeland Spring 2025, themed “Vietnam’s Heart,” kicked off in Osaka, Japan, on January 4, aiming to strengthen love for the homeland, promote Vietnamese culture, foster Vietnam-Japan friendship, and contribute to economic and trade cooperation between the two nations.

The Homeland Spring 2025 programme is slated to take place in Hanoi from January 18-21, or from the 19th to the 22nd of the last lunar month of the Year of the Dragon, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese.
