Hanoi (VNA) – Elegant ikebana flower arrangements, together with hundreds ofmulticoloured flowers from Japan, are on display at “The Beautiful Japanese” – a specialevent that aims to introduce to Hanoi’s people the fresh flowers from the Landof the Rising Sun.
The special event,which is co-organised by the Hanoi-based Métaphore Flower Boutique and Omori,the leading flower wholesaler in Japan, presents 50 different kinds offresh flowers from Japan.
Speaking at a pressconference on the event on February 28, Omori representative Hirotaka Sato saidthat with 50 years of experience in the flower industry and a highly efficientnetwork, his company commits to deliver high-quality flower products.
“Omori sets new standards of distribution efficiency to foster the growth offloriculture and to develop the understanding that flowers contribute much tothe material and spiritual enrichment of human being.
“Through Métaphore, one of the pioneers in the art of European contemporaryarrangement in Hanoi, we hope to bring Japanese flowers closer to the capital’sresidents,” he said.
Also on Febraury 28, Japaneseflower communicator Chiharu Suzuki conducted a workshop on the Japanese art of flower arrangement, ikebana, in Hanoi.
More than 20 womenhad the chance to learn about the art and basic principles of the unique arrangement,which strives for harmony withnature.

A documentary series entitled Sac Mau Nhat Ban (Colours of Japan) which showcases the best of Japanese gastronomy will be aired on Vietnamese television from February 3.
