Over the past decade, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and the UK have made remarkable strides. On trade, the two countries have implemented the UKVFTA for more than four years, and most recently, the UK’s accession as the 12th member of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) has further strengthened bilateral cooperation.

Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office covering the Indo Pacific Catherine West co-chaired the 10th Vietnam-UK Strategic Dialogue in Hanoi on October 24.

Indonesian Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan has called on the UK to support the strengthening of Indonesia’s agricultural product export instead of implementing policies that could hinder Indonesia's exports like the European Union does with its deforestation-free regulation (EUDR).

The Vietnam-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) has held the 10th meeting in Manchester, where the two sides affirmed their commitment to efforts to promote bilateral trade.
