The UK-based Lloyd’s List magazine has released its 2025 ranking of the world’s top 100 busiest container ports. Notably, three Vietnamese seaports made the list: Ho Chi Minh City Port, Hai Phong Port, and Cai Mep Port.

On September 15, 1945, the Vietnam News Agency - named by President Ho Chi Minh – aired the full text of the Declaration of Independence and the list of the members of the provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in three languages – Vietnamese, English and French. Accordingly, the Politburo set the target of improving quality of preschool and general education to reach advanced standards in Asia by 2030.

From August 30 to September 2, Hanoi will waive fares on subsidised public transport services (buses and urban railways) for residents and visitors. All five Hanoi students won medals at International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics 2025 (IOAA 2025) in India, securing 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze. The competition brought together nearly 300 students from 66 countries and territories.

At the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, New Zealand House Speaker Gerry Brownlee paid an official visit to Vietnam from August 27 to 31. This marks his first visit to Vietnam since taking office and comes as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (June 19, 1975 – June 19, 2025) with a series of significant activities.
