The northeastern province of Quang Ninh has been implementing measures to attract more visitors as it eyes to accommodate 19 million tourists this year, two million higher more than the target set previously.

In the remaining months of 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue implementing concerted solutions to develop Vietnam's foreign trade, in which Northeast Asia with important markets will be identified as the focus, according to the ministry’s Asia - Africa Market Department.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) will continue to focus on and tie into solutions to develop foreign exports, in which Northeast Asia and its prime markets, is one of the focal points.

Vietnam Airlines will alter flight routes between Vietnam and Northeast Asia, including Japan, the Republic of Korea and Taiwan (China), and the US from August 4 to avoid the airspace near Taiwan where China conducts military drills.

Defence officials from member countries of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) discussed outstanding regional security issues at the ASEAN Security Policy Conference that opened in Manila on June 29.
