In January 2025, Vietnamese investors launched 10 new overseas projects without any capital adjustment. Vietnam’s total outbound investment reached over 83 million USD, more than 5.1 times higher than the same period in 2024.

Vietnam invested in 151 overseas projects in the first 11 months of 2024, according to the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Overseas investment by Vietnamese firms is growing and can surpass 1 billion USD per year in the future, from about 700 million USD at present, said Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises Nguyen Mai.

Vietnamese firms poured 546.7 million USD into overseas projects in the first five months of 2021, more than triple the figure of the same period last year.

Vietnamese firms invested 545.9 million USD in overseas projects in the first four months of 2021, a year-on-year rise of 7.9-fold, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Vietnam registered to invest 303.5 million USD abroad in the first 11 months of this year, plus 55 million USD worth of additional capital for existing overseas projects.
