The Party leader affirmed thatdespite ups and downs at certain times, the time-honoured friendship,fostered by generations of leaders, remains the main stream inVietnam-China relationship.

Having grown into thecomprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, the bilateral ties,however, has still dealt with the dispute over sea and islandsovereignty as the largest unaddressed issue, he said.

The Partychief told overseas Vietnamese that his China visit looks to consolidatepolitical trust, strengthen friendship, boost all-round cooperation, aswell as accelerating negotiations towards the reasonable settlement ofdisputes at sea in order to make the bilateral ties grow healthily andstably in the time to come.

Turning to theVietnamese Embassy’s accomplishments, he affirmed that the embassy playsan important role in fostering the ties, as well as its duty ofparticipating in addressing differences between the two nations andprotecting the national sovereignty and the interests of the nation andthe Vietnamese community in China.

The embassy should promote its advisory performance further for stronger growth of bilateral ties, he said.-VNA
