Prime Minister to attend WEF’s annual conference in Davos

Vietnam and the WEF began their cooperation in 1989. TheSoutheast Asian country has always attached great importance to cooperation withthis high-profile forum. Vietnam is the sole Southeast Asian nation with which theWEF has signed and implemented a cooperation deal under the public-privatepartnership format. As part of this important deal, the WEF provides supportand consultancy to Vietnam on improving its capacity to join the FourthIndustrial Revolution. The country organised the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF-ASEAN2018) in September last year under the theme of “ASEAN 4.0: Entrepreneurshipand the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Prof.Klaus Schwab said that the WEF-ASEAN 2018 is the most successful regionalmeeting of the WEF.-VNA
The World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) 2018, taking place from September 11-13, 2018 in Hanoi, is significant to promotion of dialogue and strengthening of extensive partnership in the region.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) is partnering with leading technological entities including Google, Microsoft, Cisco and Lazada to launch a Digital ASEAN programme, aiming to develop digital skills among some 20 million ASEAN citizens by 2020 with an emphasis on SMEs.
Hosting the WEF-ASEAN 2018 is a chance for Vietnam to deepen relations with a wide range of countries and partners, including neighbouring countries and strategic, key partners.
