Railway sector adds 51 train services to serve National Day holiday

Vietnam Railways Corporation has announced it will operate an additional 51 train services on major routes from August 21 to September 2, 2025 to meet the increasing travel demand for the National Day holiday (August 30-September 2).

Hanoi (VNA) 💛– Vietnam Railways Corporation has announced it will operate an additional 51 train services on major routes from August 21 to September 2, 2025 to meet the increasing travel demand for the National Day holiday (August 30-September 2).

On the North–South route, six regular pairs of Thong Nhat trains – SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, SE9/10 and SE11/12 – will run as scheduled. On the Hanoi–Da Nang route, alongside the regular SE19/20 service, two extra trains will operate: SE17 on August 29 and SE18 on September 1. For the Hanoi–Vinh line, in addition to the regular NA1/2 service, five supplementary trains will run, namely NA3 on August 29-30, NA4 on August 31 and September 1, and NA8 on September 2. The Hanoi–Thanh Hoa route will see eight extra services with TH1/TH2 trains operating on August 30-31, and September 1- 2. The Hanoi–Dong Hoi route will have two additional services: QB1 on August 29 and QB2 on September 1. On the Hanoi–Hai Phong line, four extra trains are planned in addition to the four regular services.
In the south, the Saigon–Quy Nhon route will add 12 supplementary services, including SE30 from August 28 to September 1, SE29 from August 29 to September 2, SQN2 on August 29 and SQN1 on September 2. On the Saigon–Nha Trang route, nine additional services are scheduled, including SNT4, SNT6, SNT8, SNT10, SNT3, SNT5 from August 29 to September 2. The Saigon–Phan Thiet line will have six extra trains, with SPT4 running on August 30-31 and September 2, and SPT3 on August 30, Septemer 1 and 2.
Other routes, such as Hanoi–Lao Cai (SP3/4, SP7/8), Hue–Da Nang (HD1/2, HD3/4) and Saigon–Da Nang (SE21/22), will continue regular operations to serve passengers. In addition, the railway sector will operate two special trains to transport approximately 1,200 soldiers from Hanoi to Tam Ky and Saigon on September 3, 2025 after they complete duties at the National Day parade. As of August 21, more than 70,000 tickets had been sold, reaching 41% of the total in the same time last year./.
