Twenty-five families of the Mong ethnic minority group in Ta Han hamlet in Cho Don district in the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan have found a new lease on life, now happily settling in a brand-new resettlement area, thanks to the swift response from the Ministry of National Defence.

Leaders of the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on September 15 made an inspection trip to Nu village in Bao Yen district, and had discussions with local officials and experts to finalise the selection of location for building a new resettlement area for local residents.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on March 25 inspected a number of works and projects in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

At a resettlement area in Phu Luu commune in Ham Yen district of the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang, spacious houses were built close to each other connected by paved roads and alleys.

The central province of Thua Thien-Hue will splash out more than 4 trillion VND (172 million USD) relocating 4,201 households illegally residing in the ancient citadel’s walls by 2025.

Chairman of the People’s Committee of the northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh Nguyen Van Quang has ordered authorities of Ky Son district to arrange a resettlement area for residents whose houses have been vulnerable to landslides on Road 445.

The northern mountainous province of Lai Chau is preparing to evacuate local residents in areas prone to landslides as it braces for complicated weather over the next few days.
