Moscow (VNA) – A seminar focusing on thetranslation of literature works between Vietnamese and Russian languages tookplace in Moscow on September 7.

Speaking at the event, Associate Professor Elena Zubtsovafrom the Moscow State Linguistic University said the seminar aims to encourageRussian students who study the Vietnamese language to enter the translationsector, which is yet to receive proper attention in Russia.

Duong Thanh Truyen, chairman of the board at theVietnamese-based Youth Publishing House, delivered a speech on the diversityand creativity of the Vietnamese language that aroused enthusiasm amongparticipating Russian students.

Associate Professor Maxim Syunnerberg from the Moscow StateUniversity pointed to difficulties in translating texts from Russian intoVietnamese, while Vietnamese translator Nguyen Thuy Anh introduced a number ofnew teaching methods that could inspire students.

She suggested the establishment of an exchange club whosemembers support each other during their translation process from Vietnameseinto Russian and vice versa.

The seminar was co-organised by the Youth Publishing Houseand the Moscow State Linguistic University. It was part of the publishinghouse’s effort to bring Vietnamese books to Vietnamese-speaking communitiesoverseas./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
