Hanoi (VNA) – Up to 39 standards are scheduled to be laid down for the State🍸 Audit of Vietnam (SAV) in July, which will conform with inte꧙rnational criteria.

This information was announced at a ceremony in Hanoi on June 24 to launch a project on enhancing the SAV’s capacity under the EU Public Finance Modernisation Programme.
Addressing the event, Deputy Auditor General Doan Xuan Tien said the State Audit development strategy until 2020 regards improving the quality and operational efficiency of the SAV as a useful tool to supervise, manage and use public assets fruitfully. Thanks to its efforts in fulfilling the set targets, the SAV has affirmed its higher position in the international auditing and accounting community, he noted. Through international cooperation activities, hundreds of Vietnamese auditors have received training, Tien said, adding that many international experts have also been dispatched to Vietnam to help the country realise the strategy.
Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam Bruno Angelet said the rule of law and good administration are significant to sustainable development and economic growth in Vietnam, highlighting the SAV’s role in maintaining an effective supervision system over the State budget. The project on enhancing the SAV’s capacity aims to increase accountability, transparency and inspection over the management of public finance and public service supply. It will focus on resource development and the modernisation of auditing methods in line with standards set by the International Organisation for Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).-VNA
