Transport minister, gov’t inspector general dismissed

Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly (NA) relievedTruong Quang Nghia of the post of Minister of Transport and Phan Van Sau of thepost of Government Inspector General on October 25.

The dismissal, part of the NA’s ongoing fourthsession, was approved by secret ballot.

Up to 94.7 percent or 465 of the NA deputiesvoted for the relief of Truong Quang Nghia while 94.3 percent or 463 of thelawmakers supported the relief of Phan Van Sau.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the two officialsmade efforts to fulfil their assigned tasks in the posts they served. Sheexpressed her hope that in their new positions, Truong Quang Nghia, nowSecretary of the Da Nang municipal Party Committee, and Phan Van Sau, nowSecretary of the Soc Trang provincial Party Committee, will continue to joinlocal authorities and people to successfully perform their duties.
