PM Pham Minh Chinh suggested Vietnam and Australia capitalise on existing multilateral trade frameworks to overcome common challenges, affirming Vietnam's readiness to discuss a bilateral trade and investment agreement to achieve the goal of raising bilateral trade to 20 billion USD and doubling two-way investment.

Vietnam and Australia aim to double the scale of two-way investment and become each other’s top 10 trading partners in the future, said Australian Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell.

The governments of Vietnam and Australia have announced the Australia-Vietnam Enhanced Economic Engagement Strategy and a roadmap to promote trade and investment ties between the two countries in the 2021 – 2025.

Overseas Vietnamese in Australia and many international friends gathered to welcome Lunar New Year (Tet), the most important annual festival for Vietnamese, at a celebration held by the Vietnamese Embassy in the host nation on January 4.
