Vietnam, Australia boost agricultural cooperation

Hanoi (VNA) – The AustralianCentre for International Agricultural Research held a conference in Hanoi onMarch 6 to discuss the Vietnam-Australia agricultural cooperation strategy for2017-2027.

The conference aimed to clear up thedemand of Vietnam and assistance from Australia for the plan.

Topics of discussion included foodsafety, climate change, soil quality and agricultural market issues.

At the event, Le Quoc Doanh, DeputyMinister of Agriculture and Rural Development, stressed Vietnam’s priority ofproducing safe farming products and tackling climate change challenges.

Doanh said Australia has strengths inmodern farming as well as the management of diseases, supply chains and productquality in response to climate change, adding that Vietnam needs to boostcapacity in those areas.

He expected the 10-year cooperation strategywill soon be completed.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
