 Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam earned its third win at the 2018Women’s Asian Cup qualification, beating Iran 6-1 on April 9 in Hanoi.

The hosts sufferedheavy pressure prior to the match to win back the top position, which went toMyanmar who beat Singapore 6-0 in a previous game.

The Vietnamese sideneeded to win and created a gap of three goals to assure their victory.

The team, however,received a shock just eight minutes into the game.

Zahra Ghanbani had an incredible free kick toopen the result. It was the first goal loss that Vietnam suffered at the event.

However, coach Mai DucChung’s girls again shaped up immediately.

They needed sevenminutes to level the result by Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung, who then created a chancefor teammate Hai Yen to head the second goal.

The second halftotally was in control by Vietnam.

Huynh Nhu made it 3-120 minutes after the interval. Nguyen Thi Hoa netted from a straight shotbefore Yen grabbed her second goal.

Nhu concluded a bigwin with a finish that went over keeper Suleimani’s head to the net.

The third win pushed Vietnamback to the top position in Group D with nine points.

Myanmar is insecond, with the same points but a smaller goal difference.

In the final groupround match, the top two teams will play each other. Vietnam just needs a drawto qualify for the Asian Cup finals next year.-VNA
