Vietnam brings culture and tradition closer to Greek people

Hanoi (VNA)𒁏 – The Vietnam – Greece Days took place from September 4 - 6 in the city of Edessa to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025) and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Edessa Mayor Ioannis Tsepkentzis affirmed that the event, together with the cultural traditions, history, and natural beauty shared by the two nations, will contribute to deepening bonds between Vietnam and Edessa in particular, and with Greece as a whole.
He emphasised that the 50-year milestone represents a new chapter in the bilateral ties, marked by closer and more effective cooperation.

Local residents also enjoyed screenings of films showcasing Vietnam’s development achievements over eight decades of independence, documentaries on the special friendship between Vietnam and Greece, as well as works about President Ho Chi Minh and award-winning Vietnamese films honoured at domestic and regional festivals./.
Addressing the event, Indonesian Ambassador Dr. Bebeb A.K.N. Djundjunan, who is now holding the ACAT rotating chairmanship, highlighted ASEAN’s message on a more united, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable association. He reviewed key achievements of the group, such as community building and expanded cooperation with global partners.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece Pham Thi Thu Huong invited Ionian authorities and businesses to visit Vietnam to explore cooperation prospects. She also encouraged local hospitality businesses in the Ionian Islands to consider hiring Vietnamese workers, with support from the regional government and the Vietnamese Embassy.
Choosing the meaningful occasion of Vietnamese Family Day on June 28, Singapore-based Vietnamese author Tina Yuan launched two travel books about Vietnam and Greece.
Held on September 13-14, ManiFiesta – the annual festival of solidarity organised by the Workers' Party of Belgium – drew tens of thousands of participants from across Belgium and neighbouring countries.
