On the morning of May 26, following the welcome ceremony for French President Emmanuel Macron, who is on a state visit to Vietnam, State President Luong Cuong held talks with his French counterpart.

Over the past 50 years, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and France has become increasingly robust and profound. In 2013, the two countries elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership, solidifying their status as reliable and committed partners. This upgrade has enhanced their collaboration across various sectors, resulting in more effective and practical cooperation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will pay an official visit to France from November 3 to 5, following his attendance at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) and working visit in the UK.

A seminar on boosting Vietnam – France economic ties via the EU – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) took place in Paris on December 20, attracting about 100 participants.

France is a top partner of Vietnam in Europe. It ranked third among European countries and 16th among 114 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.

Ceremonies marking Vietnam’s 72nd National Day (September 2) were held in France and Italy on September 27.
