Hanoi (VNA) 💧– Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam Nguyen Huy Tien, together with Prosecutors General from nine other ASEAN member states, signed the Sanur Bali Declaration on September 15, pledging stronger cooperation in tackling cross-border crime.

The declaration, endorsed at the ASEAN Prosecutors/Attorneys General Meeting (APAGM) in Bali, commits regional prosecutors to closer coordination in addressing transnational offenses such as online gambling, scams, corruption, money laundering, and cross-border asset smuggling.
Speaking at the meeting, Indonesian Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin said the declaration is not only a reflection of the shared commitment to fair law enforcement in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), but also an effort to mitigate modern crimes that transcend jurisdictions. He stated that cross-border asset recovery would be key to fighting transnational crime, adding that effective coordination and collaboration were needed while respecting national legal systems. Burhanuddin said APAGM would serve as a strategic forum to boost international legal cooperation, capacity building, and information-sharing among ASEAN prosecutors, in line with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045./.
