– The VietnamGeneral Confederation of Labour (VGCL), the Asia-Pacific International TradeUnion Confederation (ITUC) and the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU) sharedexperience to promote close and effective cooperation at the sixth JointCoordination Meeting held in the northern province of Ninh Binh on September28.

President of the VGCL Bui Van Cuong highlightedthe ITUC’s active support for Vietnamese trade unionists to meet with theircounterparts from other countries.

The VGCL will push ahead with coordination withthe ITUC to implement effectively cooperative contents reached at the meeting,he affirmed.

Secretary General of the ITUC Shoya Yoshidarecognised the close coordination between trade unions in the Association ofSoutheast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The enhancement of multinational cooperation andinformation sharing in the field is crucial to improve the efficiency of tradeunion activities, he stressed.

Deputy head of the LFTU external relationsdepartment Inpeng Meuviseth said the LFTU is boosting legal consultancyactivities and hygiene safety to trade unions at the grassroots level as wellas focus on developing trade union membership and building trade unions inforeign-invested sectors.-VNA
