Vietnam – Malaysia diplomatic ties celebrated in Hanoi

Hanoi (VNA) – A ceremony marking 45 years of the diplomatic relations betweenVietnam and Malaysia (March 30, 1973 – 2018) took place in Hanoi on March 30.

Speaking atthe ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam – Malaysia Friendship Association Do HuuHao said located in Southeast Asia, the two countries share culturalsimilarities and early established exchanges among their people.

Over thepast 45 years, the ties have progressed across all fields, including politics,economics-trade, security-defence, culture, education and human resources.

He said hebelieves based on the past achievements and concerted efforts Vietnam-Malaysiastrategic partnership will be further developing towards effectiveness forpeace, stability, cooperation and prosperity in the region and in the world.

MalaysianAmbassador to Vietnam Mohd Zamruni Bin Khalid thanked the Vietnam Union ofFriendship Organisations and the Vietnam – Malaysia Friendship Association forholding the ceremony.

He noted thebilateral ties had obtained fruitful results over the past years, adding thetwo countries’ signing of an agreement to establish the strategic partnershipas a highlight of the 45-year period.

Thisceremony is a chance for both sides to discuss future orientations for thedevelopment of their relations, the diplomat said.-VNA
