A ceremony was held recently to announce the export of Vietnamese passion fruits to Australia, and the import of Australian plums into Vietnam. The announcement, stated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Australian Embassy, has made passion fruits become the fifth kind of Vietnamese fruits to be officially exported to Australia.

Australian plums will soon be on shelves in Vietnam under the two-way agricultural market access agreement between the two countries that brings Australian plums to Vietnam and Vietnamese passion fruit to Australia, according to the Australian Government.

The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) has agreed to pilot import of Vietnamese passion fruits starting in July, making it the 10th Vietnamese fruit to be allowed to enter the Chinese market, Deputy Director of the Plant Protection Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Nguyen Thi Thu Huong said at a conference on July 7.

The General Administration of Customs (GAC) of China has just approved the pilot import of Vietnamese passion fruits from July 1, according to the Vietnam Sanitary and Phytosanitary Notification Authority and Enquiry Point (SPS Vietnam).
