22,000 USD given to help Romania’s fight against COVID-19

Vice President of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association Bui Trong Dinh visited the Romanian Embassy in Vietnam on April 13 to hand over 500 million VND (22,000 USD) to support Romania’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vice President of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship AssociationBui Trong Dinh visited the Romanian Embassy in Vietnam on April 13 to hand over500 million VND (22,000 USD) to support Romania’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dinh said the funding was donatedby the Association's members and others who love Romania.

It is expected to boost solidaritybetween the two peoples and partly help mitigate the impact of the disease in Romania,he added.

Romanian Ambassador Emil Ghitulescuthanked the Vietnamese State, people, and the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Associationfor their warm sentiments and support.

He said he appreciates the measures introduced by the Vietnamese Government tofight the pandemic, the efforts of Hanoi authorities, and the participation ofthe Vietnamese people.

Dinh added that the Associationwill also hand over 100 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committeeto aid Vietnam's prevention and control efforts./.
