Quang Binh (VNA) – Forty-eight rare animals have been released into the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh, from the beginning of this year.

The information was released by the centre for the rescue, preservation and development of creatures under the management board of the park.

Many of them are listed on the Vietnam Red Book, including palm civet, assam macaque, nother pig-tailed macque and reticulated python.

According to the centre, the released animals have quickly adapted to their surrounding environment in the park.

In recent years, thanks to communication campaigns conducted by the local authorities, locals’ awareness of forest protection and observance of the law has been raꦚised. Many residents have voluntarily handed over rare animals to the centre for conservation.-VNA

Vietnam ramps up plastic waste recycling, reuse, treatment 🌌efforts

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public. Other localities—such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City—have also effectively implemented waste-sorting initiatives at source, along with models for plastic-free markets and urban areas.
