A symposium themed, “Air Quality Improvement and Urban Transport: BestPractice and Cooperative Projects” will be held in Hanoi on March 21.

Talking with the press on March 19 in Hanoi, Director of UBIFRANCE TradeAgency of the French Embassy in Hanoi Marc Cagnard said that Francewants to develop its trade, industry and technology relations withVietnam.

The symposium, sponsored by the French Embassy and theVietnam Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, will be animportant event in environmental research and Vietnam-Francecooperation, the director said.

The one-day symposium will focuson public transport in Hanoi and Vietnamese-French cooperation; airquality monitoring and management in Vietnam’s urban areas and thenetwork of monitoring stations in France.

An assessment of thepresent situation of air quality in Hanoi and the reduction of vehicleemissions through the implementation of a sustainable traffic system,solutions to the air quality management and Hanoi’s public transportwill also be discussed at the event./.
