Hanoi (VNA) – The ASEAN Cultural Fair recently took place at O’Higgins University (UOH) in Santiago, Chile, aiming to enhance cultural understanding and foster educational collaboration betweeꦑn the Southeast Asian bloc and the South American country.

The event was part of activities by the ASEAN Committee in Santiago (ACS), with participation from the embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Vietnam’s booth, featuring traditional cultural products and Vietnamese coffee, drew significant attention from students, lecturers, and visitors. Displays offered the UOH community a chance to experience the diverse cultural landscape of ASEAN, from handicrafts and music to cuisine and traditional farm produce.
The fair was a highlight of ongoing cooperation between the ACS and Chilean educational institutions, aligned with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. With active participation from youth, scholars, and local authorities, the event contributed to strengthening friendship and development cooperation between ASEAN and Chile.
During a working session with UOH’s leadership on this occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Chile Nguyen Viet Cuong emphasised the importance of education and cultural exchange in connecting nations. He affirmed the broad potential for cooperation between Vietnamese universities and UOH, a young and dynamic university with a strong international orientation. The ambassador expressed his hope that UOH will soon send a delegation to Vietnam to advance concrete partnerships in training, research, and academic exchange./.
