ASEAN labour inspectors to meet in Quang Ninh

Almost 120 officials from ASEAN labour inspection agencies, its partners countries and international labour organisations will convene in Quang Ninh province for the first time from October 13-14.

Speaking at apress conference in Hanoi on October 11, Deputy Minister ofLabour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Bui Hong Linh stressed theimportance of the first ASEAN Labour Inspectors’ Conference, as ASEANcountries are carrying out their action plans for the 2010-2015 period,agreed on at the ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Meeting.

The forthcoming conference is expected to contribute to the building of an ASEAN Community by 2015, he said.

Themeeting is scheduled to discuss measures to strengthen the capacity oflabour inspectors and cooperation amongst ASEAN countries, to ensure astrong and developed ASEAN community, he added./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
