Asian cuisine, culture promoted in Czech Republic

A festival introducing Asian culture and traditional cuisine has been held at the English College of Prague (ECP) in the Czech Republic, drawing hundreds of visitors.

Prague (VNA) – A festival introducingAsian culture and traditional cuisine has been held at the English College ofPrague (ECP) in the Czech Republic, drawing hundreds of visitors.

It was also a fund-raising event initiatedby ASEAN students at the ECP. The event was organised with the support of the embassiesof ASEAN nations in the Czech Republic, including Indonesia, Malaysia, thePhilippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

Proceeds from the event will be sent tovictims of quakes and tsunami in Indonesia in 2018 and disadvantaged peopleacross Asia.

In addition to traditional dishes, artperformances featuring musical instruments of Asian countries were staged atthe event.

Vietnamese student Nguyen Minh Thu, amember of the organisers, said the festival was a huge success, voicing herhope that similar events will be held in upcoming years to promote the cultureof Asia in general and Vietnam in particular to international friends.

ECP Headmaster Dr Nigel Brown said thefestival fostered the students’ event planning skills and enhanced image of theAsian community in the Czech Republic.-VNA
