Audiovisual copyright woes discussed at conference

Experts said copyright has notbeen ensured in recent times, allowing copies and contraband versions ofCDs and films to be produced and sold and media content beingintentionally broadcast without consent from the film studios that ownthe property.

Lawyer Phan Vu Tuan, office manager ofthe municipal Intellectual Property Association, said the relativelyprevalent issue has become a barrier for artists and TV servicedevelopers.

Sharing this viewpoint, Deputy Head ofthe Vietnam Copyright Office Pham Thi Kim Oanh warned the increasinglysophisticated and multiform copyright violations in the field of digitaltechnology.

She said legal regulations on thismatter have yet been fully realised and called on copyright holders tobe more proactive in self-protection.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
