Australian school to send English teachers to Vietnam

An agreement to this effect was signed between theMinistry of Education and Training (MoET) and ELC Executive DirectorDavid Scott on January 16 in Hanoi.

In witnessingthe signing, MoET Deputy Minister Nguyen Vinh Hien acknowledged theimportance of the partnership to increase English proficiency inVietnamese schools.

The event also marked the beginning ofactivities to commemorate 40 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnamand Australia, he noted.

The same day, the MoET alsosigned an agreement with Australian education software developer GregEllis, under which Ellis will supply the ministry’s National ForeignLanguage Scheme with software to support students and teachers studyingfor Standard English and IELTS examinations.
