Australian Senate President begins official visit to Vietnam
A high-ranking delegation of the Australian Senate led by President Scott Ryan arrived in Hanoi on January 20 evening, beginning an official visit to Vietnam until January 25.

Hanoi (VNA) – A high-ranking delegation of theAustralian Senate led by President Scott Ryan arrived in Hanoi on January 20evening, beginning an official visit to Vietnam until January 25.
The trip is made at the invitation of NationalAssembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1973, Vietnamand Australia have built strong and substantive relations on the basis ofmutual respect and interest.
The Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Partnership, announced in2009 and enhanced in 2015, underlines the concerted efforts of the governmentsand people of the two countries to advance the bilateral relations.
The two countries elevated their bilateral relationship to aStrategic Partnership in March 2018 during Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s officialvisit to Australia.–VNA
Australia will assist Vietnam in enhancing its innovative ecosystem through a development assistance programme named Aus4Innovation, which was launched on January 10.
The first Mekong Delta Forum on developing the partnership between Vietnam and Australia in organic agriculture was held in An Giang province on January 14.
President of the Australian Senate Scott Ryan will pay an official visit to Vietnam from January 20-25 at the invitation of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, according to the NA Committee for External Relations.
State President Luong Cuong’s trip once again reaffirmed the Party and State’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralisation of relations. It also reflected the strong trend of enhanced cooperation among countries of the Global South in shaping a new, more multipolar, fair and equitable world order.
The outcomes of Party General Secretary To Lam's visit will serve as a driving force and source of inspiration for the two countries to inherit, promote, and elevate their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, contributing to the national construction and development cause in each country, and to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on August 9 inspected the construction site of the new Phong Chau bridge, and surveyed a planned route for the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway section running through the northern province of Phu Tho.

The ruling People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) attaches great importance to the friendship, solidarity, and comradeship with the Communist Party of Vietnam, and voiced her Party’s wish to further deepen and expand relations between the two sides for the benefit of the Vietnamese and Angolan people.
Vietnam pledges to do its utmost to build an ASEAN of solidarity, consensus, and unity in diversity, and to foster a fast and sustainable development path for ASEAN, grounded in science, technology, and innovation, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
