Fourteen outstanding business leaders from Vietnam were honoured as winners of the prestigious Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2017 (APEA) at a ceremony in HCM City on December 19.

HCM City (VNA) - Fourteen outstanding businessleaders from Vietnam were honoured as winners of the prestigious Asia PacificEntrepreneurship Awards 2017 (APEA) at a ceremony in HCM City on December19, the first time it was held in the country.

The awardees include Dang Van Thanh, Founder and President ofTTC Group; Hoang Nguyen Thu Thao, CEO of Nguyen Hoang Group; Doan Hong Viet, Founder,CEO and Chairman of Digital World; Hoang Duc Thao, Chairman and General Directorof Ba Ria-Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development Limited Company; and Le VietHai, Chairman and CEO of Hoa Binh Construction Group.

Organised by Enterprise Asia, the APEA is a regionalrecognition programme that aims to bond leading entrepreneurs across the regionto spur greater innovation, fair practises and entrepreneurship development.

The awards are presented to the finest entrepreneurs acrossthe region each year, with award ceremonies held in over 13 countries,including Vietnam.

The APEA is often compared to the Olympics for the stringententry criteria and highly competitive judging parameters. 

Each nominee is subjected to a rigorous judging process,including financial verification by an appointed audit firm and mandatoryphysical site audits and interview, culminating in a confidential ballotingprocess by Enterprise Asia’s committee.

This year, the awards received close to 50 nominees and 14winners across 11 industries were selected.

At the ceremony, Hoang Nguyen Thu Thao, CEO of Nguyen HoangGroup, said: "Receiving this award is not only about my own happinessbut also for more than 2,000 staff of Nguyen Hoang Group in our past 18 yearswho have made continuous efforts to be recognised by the international andlocal community. This encourages us to try more in the future, especially inthe field of education that we are pursuing. This is also an opportunity for usto connect with Vietnamese and international businesspeople."

﷽ Maximum fine of 3,000 USD proposed for violating invoice regulations

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
