Bahrain to open trade promotion office in Hanoi, HCM City

Bahrain will open its trade promotion offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to facilitate trade with Vietnam and other countries in the ASEAN bloc, said Sheikh Daij bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the ASEAN-Bahrain Business Council.

HCM City (VNA) – Bahrain will open its trade promotion offices inHanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to facilitate trade with Vietnam and other countriesin the ASEAN bloc, said Sheikh Daij bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of theASEAN-Bahrain Business Council.

He made the statement while meeting with Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh CityPeople’s Committee Le Thanh Liem on April 16.

Bahrain, which boasts huge oil reserves and is a financial centre of the MiddleEast, has various favourable policies to attract foreign investors, includingthose from Vietnam, he noted.

He said that the ASEAN-Bahrain Business Council was established in 2017 tobolster business ties as well as exchanges in trade, sports, tourism andculture between Bahrain and the ASEAN member states.

The council’s delegation is on Vietnam’s visit to attend a trade fair in Hanoiand seek trade cooperation opportunities in the country, he added.

For his part, the HCM City Vice Chairman applauded Bahrain’s initiative to opena trade representative office in the southern hub, expressing his hope that thevisit will help bolster trade ties between the two countries in general andbetween Bahrain and HCM City in particular.

HCM City welcomes Bahrain businesses to join its smart city projects, he said,adding that the city always rolls out red carpet for Bahrain firms to landlong-term investment in the city.-VNA
