Prostitution in Vietnam has beengetting more sophisticated, with some marketing themselves both at homeand abroad on the Internet. The number of sex workers in the country isestimated to be 32,700, up 9.3 percent from 2012, largely in the RedRiver and Mekong Deltas, the north central and south-eastern regions.

Some suggested revoking the licences of karaoke or lodging facilities that involve in sex trade.

They also called for the involvement of non-governmental and othersocial organisations along the way, making it easier for prostitutes tointegrate back into the community after their rehabilitation.

For the past time, pilot models to help sex workers better access socialservices have proved successful and inter-sectoral coordination in thefight has been reinforced.

The event was hosted by the National Committee on AIDS Prevention, Drug and Prostitution Control.-VNA
